A career in cyber

Organisations, societies, and economies are undergoing digital transformation, and with this the threats to individuals, data, and assets are increasing. There is a significant skills shortage in the cyber security industry to meet this challenge.

Young people that study for a career in cyber security will gain access to a job market that offers higher salaries than traditional IT roles, and a wide range of career prospects.

Cyber security as a career is challenging - you will be learning throughout your career. The Cyber Futures Programme gives you a head start in your career by providing you with the fundamental skills, knowledge, and understanding of the industry to progress to university or to secure an apprenticeship or degree apprenticeship.

Cyber Futures Programme provides a programme that enables students to prepare for a career in cyber security.

"Half (50%) of all private sector businesses identify a basic technical cyber security skills gap, i.e. a lack of confidence in performing a range of basic cyber security skills tasks or functions."
